I teach my classes and sell yarns and knitting supplies at Village Needlework in Cedar Rapids. Rose Mary Erusha is the owner and she has created a busy, inspiring and welcoming center for needlearts. An important aspect of the shop is our giving back to the community. We meet the second and fourth Thursdays of each month for our "Community Stitching" where we finish baby hats for the local hospitals and stitch door hangers and lap rugs for nursing home residents. We also collect food items for the Linn County Food Bank. As part of our class fee we ask that you please bring an item for the food bank. Through the generosity of our customers we have been able to donate many items to others in the city. One very special character at the shop is Millie who is the official greeter.
